The summary of meeting “Italy-Poland: opportunities for startups cooperation”

On 21st November, Business Link area at PGE National Stadium was transformed into a place where Italian companies could meet Polish startups, representatives of SME and venture capital funds. The event meeting “Italy-Poland: opportunities for startups cooperation” was aimed at starting cooperation of young, innovative Italian companies with Polish entrepreneurs. 

The seminar was opened by Antonino Maffodda, director of Italian Trade Agency in Warsaw, S.E. Alessandro De Pedys, the Italian ambassador in Poland and Beata Lubos, the representative of Ministry of Economic Development, deputy director of Innovation Department.

The participants of the event had the opportunity to hear about the activities of the Italian innovation ecosystem, learn more about role and functions of science and technology parks in creating conditions for new companies in Italy. Therefore, foreign companies were informed about Polish startup environment, the potential of technology parks and incubators in Poland. Additionally, they received information about support tools that are available for innovators in Poland.

68 companies including nine Italian ones: Dom Terry, Green Idea, Green Mineral, Is Clean Air, I-Tenere, Tsec, Umbria Export, Velunia and Wekloud took part in the meeting. Italian participants assessed the business contacts established at the event as promising. During the talks with technology parks, both sides expressed the will to strengthen cooperation with the assistance of the Italian Trade Agency.

The event was organized by Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in cooperation with Polish Business and Innovation Centres Association in Poland (SOOiPP), National Chamber of Commerce (KIG) and Startup Poland Foundation.
